Volunteer Roles

  •  Hop Shop Assistant: Connect with other rabbit lovers in the community by helping put together curbside pickup orders placed online! Our Hop Shop Assistants make our Hop Shop possible by bringing much needed supplies to the Rabbit Center guests, keeping the shop orderly, arranging nationwide shipping orders, and handcrafting HRS toys.
  • Rabbit Responder: Become a part of spreading rabbit health and wellness information to both new and seasoned rabbit parents alike. The Rabbit Center receives lots of incoming phone calls and emails with inquires about how to care for house rabbits well, what makes the best diet for rabbit, what our Hop Shop hours are, and how to get connected with other HRS resources and services. Most calls and emails are simple and can be answered on the spot. If not, we have print resources for our Rabbit Responders to use to answer questions and help redirect callers/emailers to answers on our website.
  •  Paw-some Cleaning Crew: Our Cleaning Crew members are our first line of defense against RHDV. These important volunteers help keep our spaces orderly, sanitized and our rabbits safe. Because of RHDV, we are taking extra care to up the level of cleanliness and biosafety around the building. This includes a lot of sweeping and mopping of the floors. It is such a big task that we can use all the extra “paws” we can to keep the rabbits here in the Rabbit Center safe.
  • Adoption Counselor: Looking to share all the knowledge and rabbit experience you have learned over the years? Want to help set up a new rabbit parent for success? Become an Adoption Counselor! Our Counselors go over what it takes to keep a new rabbit hoppy and healthy in a home. This volunteer role can be done in the comfort of your home or here in the Rabbit Center and is entirely digital via Zoom!
  • Transport Volunteer: Looking for a commuter cutie? We have just the furry friends for you! Our transport volunteers help drive our rabbits to and from local veterinary appointments as well as bring in new kids from municipal shelters all around the Bay Area. Transport volunteers must have access to their own car as well as car insurance.

Have a skill that you would like to share but isn’t necessarily on this list above? Graphic design? Gardening? Team management? We would love to hear from you. Send us an email to let us know!
